BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people who died in a domestic incident involving a stabbing and house fire last week in Buffalo have been identified, police announced Thursday.

Police said 24-year-old Megan Huttenlocker was stabbed by 24-year-old Andrew Shipley, both of Buffalo, in the early morning hours of July 13 on the 700 block of Ashland Avenue. She was taken to ECMC where she was later pronounced dead.

Less than a half hour later, the Buffalo Fire Department responded to a blaze that started at a residence on Dash Street. Shipley was found dead in a first-floor bedroom.

Officials said that Shipley and Huttenlocker lived together at the Dash Street residence and were in a relationship. Huttenlocker’s homicide investigation has been cleared, while Shipley’s death remains under investigation.

The fire caused around $150,000 in damages and one firefighter suffered minor injuries.
