Buffalo Bills Receive Surprisingly High Ranking For 2024

Bleacher Report recently listed their NFL power rankings with training camps kicking off. Where did the Buffalo Bills come in ranked?

For the last few seasons, the Bills have been a team that many have considered to be a Super Bowl contender, and that “this is their year.” However, with an inability to get past the Kansas City Chiefs in recent postseason, the window feels like its closing on Buffalo’s Super Bowl chances.

The saving grace for the Bills is that they have an elite quarterback in Josh Allen.

Allen is capable of winning a game against any team in the NFL, but he can’t do that by himself every game and Buffalo does not feel like a legitimate Super Bowl contender as a result.

Can the Bills overcome all of their offseason subtractions?

This offseason, the Bills saw a lot of changes on both sides of the ball. There is a lot of concern about what their offense might look like in particular, seeing as how they lost their top two wide receivers in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

In Bleacher Report’s power rankings, the Bills were ranked seventh overall, with a bunch of teams from the AFC ahead of them.

However, with a lot of uncertainty surrounding the team, the ranking of seventh seems a bit high.

With the offense being a major concern, here’s what Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady had to say about Allen and the offense.

“At the end of the day, there’s only one guy in that receiver room that has caught a ball from Josh (Allen) in a game,” Brady told reporters. “At the end of the day for the longest time when you had to play the Buffalo Bills you had to worry about Stefon Diggs. And that is different now, but you also had to worry about Josh Allen. It’s a quarterback-driven league and fortunately, we still have him so our offense will run through him.”

Allen is certainly capable of elevating the players around him, but losing his top two wide receivers without getting much to replace them is a big concern for Buffalo.

The concerns on offense certainly make their No. 7 ranking seem a bit high, as they were ranked ahead of teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, who have a lot less question marks on paper going into the season.

Time will tell whether the Bills will be the same team that we have seen in recent years. With the massive changes on offense, it is hard to imagine that the unit will be as good as we have seen in years past.
