Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - On to day two of training camp for the Buffalo Bills at St. John Fisher University. The Bills are two seasons away from moving across the street into the new Highmark Stadium. The Sabres have also renovated the KeyBank Center roof, along with a new scoreboard going into the 2024 season.

Bills and Sabres Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli on the "Jeremy and Joe Show" Thursday said that they are only focused on one timeline for the stadium being ready opening day of 2026.

"When fans come to the stadium this year, they're going to be very surprised, they're gonna have obviously have a great view of what's going on, but they're gonna be surprised where we're at." Guelli said from St. John Fisher. "So I would never say ahead of schedule, but feel really good."

Things have been different from the last time that Guelli was with the organization. On the "Jeremey and Joe Show" Guelli talks about the Bills possibly not being in Buffalo.

A big part of the stadium is making it work for the NFL and for television. Guelli said that the lower bowl and the field were built in mind to make it for television in the NFL.

"If it doesn't show up the right way on television, it can be an issue we went through those same things in other leagues." Guelli said. "You got a TV test everything to make sure it works but yeah, that's part of it being a big business you know, the television is critically important to our model. So it's got to be considered with every decision that we make."

The Sabres are also having renovations done to their arena with a new roof and a new state of the art scoreboard. Guelli said there is a couple minor pieces that need to be done with the roof, and that everything should be up by the first week of September.
