While everyone is fawning over rookie Keon Coleman and what he could bring to this offense (which is a lot), veteran wide receiver Curtis Samuel has all the opportunity to be a valuable contributor out of the gate in his first year with the Buffalo Bills. Not only that, but one reason stands out above the rest that could point to a successful 2024 season.

Curtis Samuel believes the 'verbiage' and 'plan' are key reasons for 2024 success

After Sunday's training camp practice, Samuel briefly caught up Alex Brasky from Bills Digest, who asked him about his familiarity with offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

“Verbiage yeah, a little bit, of course you’re going to come to different places, and some things may be the same, some things may be different, but I mean, I kinda understood the plan, ya know, and that was most important,” Samuel said.

The familiarity with Joe Brady from their time in Carolina, when Samuel put together his best season as a pro, is no small thing. In 2020, Samuel tallied 77 receptions for 851 yards and three touchdowns, while also logging 41 rushing attempts and 200 rushing yards.

Brady previously confirmed that Samuel will act as a do-everything weapon in the Bills offense, and the familiarity with verbiage and concept in the playbook will help Samuel get acclimated nicely.

Buffalo's pass catchers have a variety of prototypes

The picture for the Bills offense is coming together early in training camp, lining up well with the thoughts from the offseason.

Rookie Keon Coleman is winning outside consistently with his size and athleticism, especially down the field. Khalil Shakir is showcasing his route running. Dalton Kincaid , from the tight end spot, has reportedly been open all over the field. Dawson Knox is another tight end that figures to get involved, especially in the red zone. And Samuel, as expected, is factoring in as a gadget guy with designed touches, alignment versatility, and plenty of speed.

Josh Allen is going to have plenty of options to throw to, and that doesn't even begin to discuss running back James Cook, who figures to be heavily involved in the passing game.

Samuel will be a Swiss Army Knife for Brady to deploy all over the field. Bills Mafia should expect to see his speed and versatility utilized all over the field early and often in 2024.
