Undrafted free agent pushing Super Bowl champion for Bills' roster spot

The Buffalo Bills seem to have complete faith in their new-look receiver room that features a ton of new names and faces.

The Bills added the likes of Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, KJ Hamler, Chase Claypool, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

It's the latter name that is getting a lot of focus right now, because many are penning in the two-time Super Bowl champion Valdes-Scantling as a guy who is a lock to make the roster. However, an undrafted free agent may have something to say about that.

Tyrell Shavers, who signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2023, is having an impressive camp, and making it much harder for the Bills to not give him a roster spot. He's been getting reps with the first-team unit, and is making a real push to be on the final 53-man roster.

Even in competition, though, Shavers said MVS has been a great veteran leader and has helped him a lot this offseason.

"MVS has really given a lot of knowledge to me," Shavers said. "He played special teams when he was younger in his career. He taught me a lot of gunner stuff in there. He's played with a lot of successful teams, won some Super Bowls... so just giving knowledge in the game through his experience has helped me a lot, too."

Shavers will continue the push for a spot on the final 53-man roster, and we'll see him on the field when the Bills open their preseason on Saturday against the Chicago Bears.
