Care for the Caregiver: Bethany to hold support group for dementia caregivers Monday
The Bulloch County Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Support Group just celebrated its one-year anniversary in June 2024. The support group offers resources and help for caregivers who are taking care of loved ones with dementia. This past year, they had 26 caregivers come through the group. Bulloch County native Anna Clifton has been named a recipient of a Georgia Foundation for Agriculture (GFA) Scholarship. Clifton is one of eight students statewide selected to receive a $2,000 GFA Rising Junior/Senior Scholarship. Take Bulloch County Schools' CTAE survey by July 9
Bulloch County Schools is conducting an online survey through July 9, to better understand high school families' perceptions of its Career Technical & Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs. Bulloch County Schools has partnered with an education market research firm, Hanover Research, to conduct the survey. It will collect opinions and perceptions of parents and industry partners to guide district leaders in developing next steps for the Career Technical & Agricultural Education program's implementation within Bulloch. This information will help guide future decisions and improvements. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Bulloch County Schools will receive survey results from Hanover Research in aggregate form only, which means no personally identifiable information will be collected or reported. Commissioners approve controversial residential subdivision
Bulloch County Commissioners met for their regular bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024. The meeting agenda included eight rezoning requests in addition to other county business. One of the most controversial of the evening was a proposed 81 home subdivision off of Horace Mitchell Road. The contentious rezoning proposal for a residential subdivision project in Bulloch County sparked heated debate as Attorney Steve Rushing representing FNT Investments LLC presented plans to the county commissioners for the subdivision.
