Overlook Coffee Company, featuring fine handcrafted coffee, opened Wednesday morning in Burdett.

Christina Gandy, who owns the coffee shop at 3825 Main St. along with her husband, Brandon Evans, said the couple, both avid coffee drinkers, are driven by a commitment to quality and authenticity.

Overlook Coffee Co. is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. The store is closed on Tuesday. Overlook features a wide variety of coffee flavors for local aficionados.

“We offer specialty coffees. We also roast as well, and we thought this was what the area needed,” Gandy said. "We offer your typical latte, cappuccino, mocha, cortado, espresso, americano, and drip coffee, just to name a few. We also offer hard ice cream flavors at the store.”

Gandy said the grand opening has gone very well and Overlook Coffee is excited to be a part of the community.

“We offer only the highest quality green coffee beans from sustainable and ethical farms around the world,” Gandy said.

Gandy said Overlook Coffee Company believes that great coffee is more than just a beverage, it is an experience that brings people together.

Unlike traditional drum roasting methods, where beans make direct contact with the heated surface, Overlook Coffee uses a fluid bed roasting process which suspends the beans in a chamber of hot air.

Gandy said this gentle and uniform heat distribution allows for precise control over the roasting process, ensuring that each batch is roasted to perfection.  “We're honored to share our passion for great coffee with the community,” Gandy said.
