The Pet of the Week is Karma – 50 pounds of PURE love! She’s an A+ student in the Mutts with Manners dog program at Northpoint Training Center and earning gold stars all around. But maybe we should let her tell you about herself:

    • I am a ball full of joy!
    • I know no strangers and think everyone is my friend.
    • I love playing with other dogs and do not discriminate on breed or gender.
    • I like to play with my toys too! If you are busy, I can entertain myself.
    • I am a little bit of a show off so I want to do tricks.
    • I can do all my basic commands: sit, down, wait, leave it, come, heel, and stay. On top of that, • I love to roll over just to get some belly rubs.
    • I’m potty trained, crate trained, spayed, and microchipped. I’m the whole package!
    • In the morning I like to wake up and put my head on your chest. This is my way of giving you a good morning hug.
    • I will let you know in every way that I love you.
    • I just really want someone to love me back.
    • I will be your forever best friend.

Just show me attention, play with me, feed me, and I’m yours! I promise if you adopt me, it will be the best decision you have EVER made.

The Mutts with Manners (MWM) program was developed by DBCHS in 2009 to provide one-on-one training and companionship for shelter dogs. Carefully screened prison inmates are paired with shelter dogs for a program co-sponsored by Northpoint Training Center in Burgin, KY. Inmates, prison staff, and volunteers work together to provide dogs with basic obedience training, socialization, and behavior modification.

Prison inmates live with their dogs in the dormitory and attend weekly sessions with an expert volunteer dog trainer. MWM dogs are confident and well-socialized and will make an ideal companion for anyone.

Karma is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to go home with you. Fill out an application and if you’re a good fit a volunteer will contact you to schedule a meet-and-greet!  https://www.dbchs.org/muttswithmanners.

The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) established in 1972 that promotes the humane treatment of animals through compassionate care, engagement, and support. DBCHS relies on your generosity to operate; please visit DBCHS’s Amazon Wishlist: https://rb.gy/hcozh
