Fort Worth Removes Municipal Judge Facing Federal Indictment for PPP Loan Fraud
The Fort Worth City Council unanimously voted to approve a resolution removing a substitute municipal judge who is under a federal indictment for fraud. Thelma Anderson, who has worked as a part-time substitute judge in Fort Worth since December 13, 2022, was indicted in March on one count of wire fraud and two counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from unlawful activity, according to the Department of Justice press release.

City of Arlington to conduct targeted ground spraying for West Nile Virus
Arlington has confirmed one positive West Nile Virus mosquito sample and will conduct targeted ground spraying at the following locations:. Targeted ground spraying will occur following the Arlington Health Authority, Tarrant County Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, spraying only in areas with a confirmed presence of the virus. Contractors will conduct two consecutive nights of targeted ground spraying between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26, weather permitting. This schedule is meant to reduce the known virus-infected adult mosquito population as quickly as possible.
