Renovations to the Mabee Center Revealed
A renovation celebration in honor of the newly refurbished J.E.& L.E. Mabee Social Services Center took place at 1855 E. Lancaster Avenue on July 23. Several dignitaries were in attendance including area commander of The Salvation Army of North Texas Major Paul McFarland and Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. Following the ribbon cutting, ceremony attendees were ushered through the new digs, which include upgrades to the individual men’s and women's shelters, which are now family shelters.
Records reveal Fort Worth school board didn’t evaluate Ramsey based on STAAR
The Fort Worth ISD school board did not evaluate its superintendent using the district’s recent STAAR results, according to records obtained by the Fort Worth Report. Superintendent Angélica Ramsey’s performance was evaluated using six academic goals and other metrics that included community relations, finance, leadership and staff relationships. Several of the academic goals were based on the MAP test, which tracks academic growth and is administered at the beginning, middle and end of the school year.
