First-year AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti takes the stage at conference media days
The American Athletic Conference kicked off its annual media days at the Loews Arlington Hotel in Arlington, TX. Ever since the AAC rebranded from the Big East in 2013, the conference operated under the direction of one commissioner, Mike Aresco. But Aresco announced his retirement in December and his reign over the conference officially ended May 31. His successor Tim Pernetti was named in early April, coming from a background in athletic administration. He previously served as the Rutgers athletic director from 2009-13 when the program was a member of the Big East, coinciding with Aresco’s tenure as commissioner. Thus, there was familiarity between the two prior to the recent change in AAC leadership.

One of the last remaining independent FBS football programs is now part of the Group of Five conference ecosystem. "Scheduling has become a real challenge and a lot of that is driven because of the changes in college football, the realignments of the major conferences, and as those teams are changing conferences, their...

The Chupacabra: Are Texans in Danger from This Mysterious Threat?
We continue our series on Texas Cryptids with one proven real, even if it isn't exactly what it seems. There's a lot of things you can see on a Saturday night in Texas. Texas is home to the Chupacabra and it's VERY real.
Millions of Texans Have Been Asked to Stop Driving Their Cars
Our personal health is a concern for us and many others in Texas. To help improve our health, we'll exercise, we'll eat the right foods, some may even wear a mask when outside (don't laugh at those who do, they have their reasons). One reason some may wear a mask outside has nothing to do protecting themselves from an invisible virus but has everything to do with the quality of the air they breathe. That's why millions of Texans have been asked to stop driving their cars unnecessarily.
