A woman's toddler died of a fentanyl overdose in her bed. She is now charged with manslaughter
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A Stanwood woman was charged July 10 with manslaughter after her young daughter died of a fentanyl overdose in 2022. Morgan Bassett, 34, woke up on the morning of Jan. 14, 2022, to find her toddler, identified by initials in court documents, unresponsive. Authorities arrived at the "manufactured home" to find Bassett and her unresponsive baby as well as two other men.
Man impersonates WDFW employee, steals boat motors totaling nearly $60,000
BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man accused of posing as a public employee to steal boat motors in several cities, including Bellingham, has been arrested. The state Attorney General’s Office says 38-year-old Victor Matt was charged with several counts of theft and forgery in Snohomish County Superior Court.

Dispatch advised of a vehicle prowl complaint in the Mount Erie parking lot on Thursday, July 11. An Anacortes man reported that his car had been broken into, along with other vehicles parked there. His vehicle had been ransacked, and he discovered some ammunition and a knife to be missing. The responding officer documented the theft.

EVERSON, Wash. — An 87-year-old Burlington woman is dead after a 2-vehicle head on crash on Lawrence Road (SR9) north of the Mount Baker Highway (SR542). First responders were dispatched about to Lawrence Road due to after a Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputy came upon a crash in the area E Hoff Road about 9:45am on Wednesday, July 17th.
