A group of 40 or so wide-eyed youngsters entered the first grade at Burnet Elementary School on September 4, 1951 – a very important day in the history of the world.

After 12 years of relentless study, most of them graduated from Burnet High School in 1963.

Sadly, a fair number of those who started that year are no longer with us.

To that end, the class survivors are planning a low key memorial service on July 29 around the flag pole in front of where our High School once stood (303 E Brier St). We hope to begin at 10:30 a.m.

If you or a member of your family had a connection to the Class of 63, you are invited to the memorial.

If you have any mementos of our deceased classmates that you feel would be appropriate to present at this memorial, please bring them.

Any questions, please call Jim Mc-Coy at 512-525-5633.
