Hennepin County Attorney will no longer prosecute pregnant women for drug use
MINNEAPOLIS — Noting that chemical addiction in and of itself is not illegal, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO) announced a significant policy change Tuesday, saying that women who engage in drug use will no longer be charged criminally. Instead, County Attorney Mary Moriarty says, those women will get the care they need to help keep infants healthy and safe.

ST PAUL, Minn. — A person was struck and killed by a light rail train Tuesday afternoon, according to Metro Transit officials. MINNEAPOLIS — One of the five people charged in the attempted $120,000 bribe of a juror in the Feeding our Future meal fraud trial pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday. Abdimajid Nur pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of juror, admitting that he recruited a woman to offer the juror money as part of an elaborate scheme that officials said threatened foundational aspects of the judicial system. A study published in Pediatric Dermatology found variances in the Medicaid acceptance status of board-certified pediatric dermatologists. The cross-sectional study looked at the Medicaid acceptance rate of 352 actively practicing board-certified pediatric dermatologists. While 78% of pediatric dermatologists in the study accepted Medicaid, acceptance varied greatly based on practice type, region, median household income in the practice county and density of pediatric dermatologists. Academic practices and practices in the Midwest were more likely to accept Medicaid as were practices in counties with lower median household income and in areas with a greater density of pediatric dermatologists.
