    Five juveniles taken into custody

    Butner Public Safety made numerous arrests and finds a significant number of firearms after carrying out a search warrant on a house and vehicle on West C Street, according to a press release from BPS.

    Butner Public Safety located a vehicle on June 5 that had been used to break into multiple vehicles at a business in Butner. The vehicle was found on West C Street and BPS determined that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Wake County.

    A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and residence.

    It was determined that there were multiple people in the home that would not come out. Butner Public Safety was able to successfully get all the occupants to exit the home.

    Butner Public Safety along with assistance from the Granville County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division executed the search warrant on the vehicle and the home.

    Nine firearms were recovered, five of which have been confirmed as stolen from multiple cities in North Carolina.

    Five juveniles were taken into custody.

    Three of the juveniles were charged with the following charges:

    • 9 counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle-felony.

    • 9 counts of minor in possession of firearm-misdemeanor.

    • 5 counts of possession of stolen firearm-felony.

    • 5 counts of larceny-misdemeanor.

    • 2 counts of larceny of a firearm-felony.

    • 2 counts of weapon of mass destruction -felony.

    .• 1 count of possession of stolen vehicle-felony

    • 1 count of financial card fraud-felony.

    • 1 count of simple possession marijuana misdemeanor.

    • 1 count of Resist, Delay, Obstruct a public official-misdemeanor.

    Two of the juveniles were charged with:

    • 9 counts of minor in possession of firearm-misdemeanor.

    • 5 counts of possession of stolen firearm-felony.

    • 2 counts of weapon of mass destruction-felony.

    • 1 count of possession of stolen vehicle-felony.

    • 1 count of financial card fraud-felony.

    • 1 count of simple possession marijuana misdemeanor.

    • 1 count of Resist, Delay, Obstruct a public official-misdemeanor.

    All of the juveniles were issued secure custody orders and turned over to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
