15 Things That Women Think Will Impress Guys, But In Reality, They Actually Couldn't Care Less

It's easy to assume what we, as women, think guys would be impressed by. I think of all the time I would spend on my hair and makeup to go on a first or second date, thinking the guy would actually notice how glowy my cheekbones are, thanks to my new Fenty highlighter. Ugh, think again. On that note, I found this Reddit thread to be quite interesting. It asked men, "What is something women think impresses men but doesn’t impress them at all?" and the thread was filled with hundreds of responses. Here is what some men said:

    1. "I’ve never heard anybody say anything appreciative about duck lips."

    2. "Likes on Instagram."

    3. "Upstaging your girlfriends in some way and bragging about it, just makes you look like you’re still in high school."

    4. "Botox. IDGAF about your forehead lines if you can't even make normal human facial expressions."

    5. "When women say, 'I don't do drama.' (Narrator: They definitely do drama.)"

    6. "Their car. One of my lady colleagues tried to impress me by constantly mentioning her brand-new Mercedes SUV. The only thing I could think was that this lady is completely financially irresponsible."

    7. "How many other guys want her."

    8. "Those upper fish lips! Just leave it be."

    9. "Saying they have high standards because they don't have any real standards, and now I'm concerned about her meeting my standards which wasn't a concern until she said that."

    10. "A lot of women might think that playing hard to get or acting overly mysterious impresses men but in reality, it can just be confusing and frustrating. Most guys appreciate honesty and straightforwardness way more than mind games. It's the genuine connection that really matters, not the chase."

    11. "Excessive makeup. A natural look is often more appealing."

    12. "Whenever she says she is great in bed or great at other extracurricular activities — she is usually terrible, awkward, a starfish 2.0, and uncoordinated."

    13. "Bragging about how many people want to date or sleep with them and how 'lucky' you are that she’s choosing you."

    14. "Probably expensive fashion accessories like purses and shoes. When I look at a woman, I look at her face and body, the way her clothes highlight her body adds value. But accessories I don’t care about."

    15. And finally, "Trying to keep up with 'guy talk' or pretending to be into things like sports or video games when you’re not."
