Cabool art club awards scholarship, holds meeting

The 2024 Cabool art club scholarship was awarded to 2024 Cabool High School graduate Owen Casper.

Casper was active throughout his high school years in theater, musicals and choir, and was highly recommended by his teachers. The money for this scholarship was raised from past Christmas home tours, art club cookbook sales and bake sales. The Cabool art club thanks the community for its continued support of these projects.

The final meeting of the 2023 – 2024 Cabool art club year was held May 21 at the Methodist Church. After prayer led by Lyn Santa, beautiful and tasty salads were enjoyed by all. Then the members were treated to a cookie decorating session led by Tonya Skyles. Tonya had prepared icing and cookies for the members and demonstrated how to make different designs and flowers. Some members broke a cookie or made too many mistakes and just had to eat their cookie before anyone else could see.

Attending: Marie Beller, Sarah Drone, Sari Wright, Gloria White, Lyn Santa, Glenda Plumlee, Vicki Woods, Tracey Trettin, Kathy Anderson, Sandra Leidy, Pat Caywood, Shelley Travis, Joyce Jones, Vanetta Sponsler and guest Tonya Skyles.

The next regularly scheduled club meeting is in September.
