PENNDOT: ROAD CLOSURE IN KITTANING, BRIDGE PROJECT TO START SOON IN RURAL VALLEY
PennDOT is also announcing a road closure in Kittanning for the demolition of a building. The closure will affect a portion of Market Street starting today through August 4th to allow for the safe demolition and removal of debris 206 Market Street. Motorists will use McKean Street, Jacob Street and Jefferson Street as detours.
FORMER WESTMORELAND COUNTY DA PASSES AWAY
A Westmoreland County DA who helped prosecute two high-profile cases that involved Indiana County has passed away. Former Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck of New Kensington died Thursday at a Pittsburgh-area hospital. He started in Westmoreland Countyâs District Attorneyâs office in 1981 and was prosecuting cases as a part-time assistant before he was elected DA in 1994. He left the office at the end of 2021 after he failed to win a re-election bid.
Portion of Kriess Road To Close Next Week
A road in Connoquenessing Township will be closing next week as part of construction on Route 68. PennDOT officials say that Kriess Road will shut down in between the intersection with Route 68 and Stevenson Road. The closure is expected to last nine days and wrap up on July 30th.
