Its mission is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of blind and legally blind people through the use of Seeing Eye dogs. The Seeing Eye breeds its own German shepherds, Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers and Labrador golden crosses. When the puppies are about 8 weeks old, they are placed in the home of a volunteer puppy raiser, where each is taught basic obedience and socialization – and lots of love. When the dog is about a year old, it is returned to The Seeing Eye and begins a four-month course of training with a sighted instructor. When the dog passes this phase, it’s matched with a blind or legally blind person and they train together, with the supervision of a sighted instructor. The dog also gets its vest.

Inspira Health expanded its donor human breast milk program to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill in Gloucester County on June 28 through an agreement with Mid-Atlantic Mother’s Milk Bank of Pennsylvania, a nonprofit group based in Pittsburgh.

Florham Park Police Stop Stolen Vehicle, Recover Multiple Stolen Items
FLORHAM PARK — On Monday, August 19, at 10:25 a.m., Florham Park Officers Chris Heredia and Charlie Greenstein, along with Sergeant Joel Phillips, responded to the area of a local business after an employee reported that someone might be attempting to make a fraudulent purchase. The officers located the suspect’s vehicle on Columbia Turnpike near Park Avenue as the individual fled the scene. During the pursuit, they discovered that the license plate on the vehicle had been reported stolen. The officers successfully stopped the vehicle off Columbia Road in Morris Township.
