Heffernan Board dissolves into inner bickering
CALEXICO– Argumentative and divisive are two words describing the Heffernan Memorial Health Care District regular meeting, Wednesday, July 17. The meeting began with qualms between the board members about topics and then a stern warning to the board from resident Jesus Solano saying, “You need to be realistic as a board of what’s coming down the pipeline. On (July) 25 we are going to LAFCO and demand you be dissolved. Most likely, our demands will be heard.”

Global lnternet Problems Affect Local Agencies
The internet issues affecting airlines, banks and various agencies around the globe are also affecting the City of El Centro. While all critical systems are operating the city says their email and electronic billing systems are currently off line. According to a new release distributed through social media, the 9-1-1- system and water / wastewater distribution systems are functioning. El Centro Regional Medical Center remains unaffected by the incident.
