    Calhoun runners win big in Black Belt Invitational

    The Running Tigers ran down the win Saturday, capturing gold, silver and bronze medals at the 4th Annual Black Belt Invitational. The Calhoun School hosted the meet sponsored by County Commissioner Joshua Simmons, and several Tigers came away with the win in the competition. Running Tigers who won big are:

    • Jeremy Hardy – Second place silver in the 100-meter dash;
    • Keonte Abrams – Second place silver in the 400-meter dash and first place gold in the 800-meter run;
    • Robert Sellers Jr., First place gold in the 1,600-meter run and first place gold in the 3,200-meter run;
    • Joshua Simmons Second place silver 1,600-meter run; and
    • Layla Gary – Second place silver in the 800-meter run.

    Teams medals won by the team are:

    • Boys 4 x 100-meter relay, third place bronze;
    • Boys 4 x 400-meter relay, second place silver; and
    • Girls 4 x 400-meter, second place silver.

    Congratulations for giving your all to capture the big “W” for the 45.
