MHPS Board of Education to fill vacancy at Thursday meeeting
The Mountain Home School Board will fill its vacancy at Thursday’s meeting scheduled for 5 in the Administration Building Board Room.The Board will meet in regular session but the meeting will not be a standard one as the Board will hear public interviews from the candidates seeking to fill Bob Chester’s vacant seat. Superintendent Allyson Dewey says that 30 minutes will be allotted for each of the 7 candidates during the interview process. Following the interviews, the Board will enter executive session to discuss and make an appointment. They will also handle the evening’s personnel recommendations during this executive session. Following the conclusion of the executive session, the remainder of the meeting agenda will continue.
Fiscal Support Specialist at ASUMH
Arkansas State University-Mountain Home seeks applicants for a Fiscal Support Specialist (Finance). Accounts payable is primarily responsible for the payment of all non-payroll goods and services and processes business expense reimbursements, and reimbursements related to travel for faculty, staff, and students. In addition, this position substantiates expenses presented on invoices, vouchers, and business travel expense reports, and ensure that these payments comply with University policies and procedures and falls within local, state, and federal regulations. Most invoices are processed through the Direct Pay System and checks are processed using Secure Check. Accounts payable reviews invoices for unpaid taxes, An Excel spreadsheet for sales taxes due is updated as needed and a sales tax report with payment due is processed monthly. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G. data processing, clerical/ administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with background and experience, and a comprehensive benefits and leave package.

The Mountain Home School Board is preparing to fill its vacancy this week following the resignation of former board member Bob Chester.
