Baxter County Disaster Recovery Center to be Closed Saturday
The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Baxter County will be closed on Saturday due to a previously scheduled event. The center located at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas on 1042 Highland Circle in Mountain Home will resume normal operational hours Monday at 8.Normal hours at the center is 8 to 6 Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays. No appointments necessary.

The 2024 MLB draft ended yesterday, with many Arkansas players getting their chance at the pros. Although the Diamond Hogs‘ season and climatically — a 5-9 record in the last 14 games — Arkansas produced eight draft picks, tying for third for the most players drafted. Ozarks doctor saves woman’s life after performing new procedure at rural hospital
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (KY3) - A rural northern Arkansas hospital is using a new procedure to save more lives. One of those saved is a woman who came into a Mountain Home ER with a ruptured aneurysm. Rita Wood, an 81-year-old native of Fulton County, said she’d been healthy her entire life until one night not long ago.
Dr. Arita Nestor, MD joins Baxter Health and Vascular Clinic
Baxter Health recently welcomed board-certified vascular surgeon Nestor Arita, MD, to the medical staff. He will be joining the Baxter Health and Vascular Clinic on August 1.Dr. Arita previously practiced in Jackson, Tennessee, for three years before moving to Mountain Home. He completed a vascular and endovascular fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, gaining expertise in various vascular conditions such as aortic aneurysms, carotid stenosis, peripheral arterial disease and more. Dr. Arita specializes in both open and endovascular treatment methods. In addition to practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their two children.
