Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has just delivered yet another blow to California’s economy. With the governor's signature of a new law on Tuesday, Elon Musk announced in a statement that “because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas .”

He also announced that the headquarters of X would move to Austin, Texas. The legislation in question prohibits schools from notifying parents when a child identifies as transgender. The law has drawn criticism for undermining parental rights and potentially alienating segments of the population.

This is yet another consequence of Newsom’s attempts at ruining California. He wants to deprive parents of the right to know what is happening with their children. This is in line with a report released by the Public Policy Institute of California in late June that showed voters in the state have unfavorable views of their elected leaders. The poll showed Newsom's approval rating among likely voters at 44%. The number for the state legislature is even lower with a 40% approval rating.

This move is another win for Texas, where a business-friendly environment and supportive policies continue to attract innovative companies such as SpaceX and X. Musk's decision to relocate SpaceX's and X's headquarters from California to Texas underscores the Lone Star State's appeal as a hub for technological advancement and economic growth.

Texas continues to shine as a beacon of opportunity, with its pro-business policies, lower tax burdens, and robust job market attracting not only companies such as SpaceX and X but also fostering an environment conducive to economic prosperity and individual freedoms. As businesses and families seek states that prioritize their values and economic interests, Texas emerges as a compelling choice, benefiting from the shortcomings and controversies facing California's leadership under Newsom.

It seems X really does mark the right spot as they move to Texas. Musk is doing what so many other companies should do. Texas is a land of opportunity and freedom, while California seems to be proving itself as restrictionist and bad for business. So, good for Musk for making the proper decision for both business and the families of his employees.
