The J.J. Walser House at 42 N. Central Ave. in Austin is in need of a savior. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1903, the home is an early example of Wright’s Prairie Style. The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is working with members of the Austin community to save the house and ensure its survival.

ROGERS PARK — A six-story apartment building could be coming to a vacant Rogers Park lot, but some neighbors say the plan is too dense and doesn’t have enough parking. Developer 5035 Land Owner, LLC is asking Ald. Maria Hadden (49th) for a zoning change to move forward with building 52 apartments at 7728 N. Sheridan Road. There wouldn’t be any retail space included in the project.

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—Twenty-five properties were sold in Park Forest in July as of this writing. Home sales averaged $155,720, with a median price of $160,000. The highest sale price was $250,000 for a 2500 sq. ft. home on Lee Street. One house in foreclosure sold for $72,000. Two homes shared the minimum price for properties sold at $62,000, one on Western Avenue and the other on Minocqua Street.

North Side home sales gains beat the rest of the city
24-Jul-24 – Despite lofty mortgage rates, North Side existing-home sales in the second quarter of 2024 beat residential marketing activity in the rest of Chicago. Sales activity rose 4.1 percent across the North Side despite mortgage interest rates generally at 7 percent or more, combined with steadily rising home prices and a continuing shortage of available homes, according to the Chicago North Side Market Report. The analysis is prepared quarterly by Mary Jo Nathan of Baird & Warner’s North Center office at 4037 North Damen Avenue.
