An eight-run first inning powered the Rochester Red Wings to a 10-4 victory over the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday in Buffalo. All eight runs in the first came with two outs, as the Wings (6-2 in the second half, 44-37 overall) opened the scoring when Juan Yepez and Trey Lipscomb drew back-to-back walks, with Lipscomb’s walk forcing home Darren Baker from third to make it 1-0. Shortstop Jackson Cluff followed with a single to bring in Riley Adams, then Alex Call lined a 2-2 fastball from Chad Green to center to bring in two more and extend the lead to 4-0.

Bruce Hornsby has canceled or rescheduled several tour dates, including multiple shows in Upstate New York, due to vocal issues. The Grammy Award-winning musician has canceled his appearances at the 4th of July celebration Thursday at Albany’s Empire State Plaza and a Saturday, July 6, concert at Point of the Bluff in Hammondsport.
