After two years, Chasidy Decker’s tiny home lawsuit against the city of Meridian has come to a close. On Tuesday, Judge Jason Scott ruled against Decker and Robert Calacal’s lawsuit, which challenged Meridian’s ban on tiny homes on wheels. IDAHO FALLS — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is holding a conference for young single adults in Idaho Falls next month. Around 2,000 participants are expected to attend the North America Central YSA Conference that is scheduled to run from Aug. 14-17 at the Mountain America Center.
Wildfire Forcing Evacuation Of Juliaetta At 2,000 Acres Structures Lost-Second Large Fire South Of Troy
A new wildfire South of Juliaetta is forcing the town to be evacuated. Latah County Sheriff’s Deputies are evacuating the town along the Potlatch River due to the Gwen Fire which has burned over 2,000 acres. Initial reports indicate that structures have been lost. Firefighters are battling the blaze from the ground with support from aircraft making water drops on the flames. Evacuees can go to the Latah County Fairgrounds in Moscow. State Highway 3 is closed South of Juliaetta. The Latah County Commissioners will consider continuing their emergency declaration for wildfires. The board first approved the declaration last week when Texas Fire erupted nearby East of Kendrick torching four homes.

Crews Battling new 1000 Acre Lightning-Caused Wildfire in Nez Perce County
JULIAETTA - Nez Perce County, about 5 miles southwest of Juliaetta, just south of the Latah County line. Incident Overview: Firefighters are battling the Gwen Fire, a new lightning-caused fire that started around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The blaze, currently burning grass and brush in steep canyon terrain, was estimated to be about 800 acres in size as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday has now grown to 1000 acres. No containment had been achieved at that time.
Rexburg police try to identify vehicle involved in hit-and-run that hurt teenager
REXBURG — Police are trying to identify a driver they believe is involved in a hit-and-run incident that hurt a teen on a bicycle. The Rexburg Police Department is asking for the community’s help after posting a picture of a white Acura TLX. The post said it’s possibly a 2013 or 2014 model. The photo above is the actual vehicle involved, obtained by video surveillance, police said.
