    CPD investigating shots fired reports

    CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Police Department is investigating two reports of shots fired.

    According to a news release from Cambridge Police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for a report of multiple gun shots in the 600 block of Race Street on July 5.

    Police said when the officers arrived, they found four spent shell casings. The officers did not find any damaged property or discover any victims, according to the news release.

    On July 10, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for a report of multiple gun shots in the 800 block of Maces Lane. Police said officers found five spent shell casings in the roadway of Maces Lane and Robbins Street.

    Police said the next day, officers responded to a report that a home in the 800 block of Maces Lane was damaged from being struck by the gunfire.

    CPD is investigating both incidents. Anyone with information relating to either incident can call the department at 410-228-3333. All calls can remain anonymous.
