    Adam Suess and Aiden Brown combine for 10 RBIs in a Deerfield baseball win over Parkview

    The Deerfield baseball team scored three runs or more in each inning during a 15-0 rout of Parkview on Thursday, April 11 at Deerfield High School.

    Senior Adam Suess led the Demons, going 3x4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Suess drove in sophomore Landon Brattlie on an RBI single in the first inning and hit a two-run single to score seniors Kris Hahn and Austin Anderson in the second.

    Later in the game, Suess grounded out to score Anderson in the third and hit an RBI single to score Hahn and Anderson in the fourth.

    Junior Aiden Brown went 3x3 with four RBIs in the win, while senior Jackson Drobac had two RBIs and Anderson and Hahn had one each. Drobac pitched five innings, allowing just two hits and recording eight strikeouts.

    Deerfield is 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Trailways-South Conference.

    Marshall 12, Deerfield 4

    Trailing 4-2 in the top of the fifth inning, Marshall scored six runs and then added two runs in the sixth and seventh to pull away with a 12-4 victory on Wednesday, April 10 at Deerfield High School.

    All of Deerfield’s runs came in the fourth inning. Junior Bryce Eickhoff scored off an error off the bat of junior Aiden Brown, junior Stephen Bagley stole home, sophomore Landon Brattlie grounded out to score Brown and senior Kris Hahn scored junior Mesfin Drexler on an RBI single.

    Hahn pitched 5 ⅓ innings with five strikeouts and 10 runs (seven earned) allowed.

    Deerfield 11, Parkview 0

    After not being able to pitch most of last season due to injury, senior Adam Suess returned to the mound with a vengeance on Tuesday, April 9.

    Suess recorded 12 strikeouts in 5 ⅓ innings pitched in relief in a Deerfield baseball 11-0 win over Parkview at Parkview High School.

    Suess held the Vikings hitless after taking over for senior Austin Anderson in the first inning.

    At the plate, senior Jackson Drobac led the Demons with four RBIs. Drobac hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth inning, scoring Suess and senior Kris Hahn. In the first, Drobac recorded an RBI groundout to score Hahn and singled home Suess in the third inning.

    Junior Luke Sigurslid, Hahn, Suess, junior Bryce Eickhoff and junior Aiden Brown were also credited with an RBI.
