    Marty pitches complete game as Cambridge home talent wins against Albion

    Cambridge starting pitcher Jared Marty pitched a complete game as the Cambridge Blues scored a 6-1 win over the Albion Tigers on Sunday, June 30 at Albion Park.

    Marty carried a perfect game into the bottom of the sixth inning before Albion’s Marcus Richards led off the inning with a single.

    The only other hit for Albion came from a solo home run from Charlie Hatlen in the eighth inning.

    Marty finished the game with 10 strikeouts, issued no walks and recorded two strikeouts in the ninth inning.

    Offensively, Colton Ehrke and Carter Lund scored twice in the top of the first inning. In the third, Sam Mickelson hit a two-run single to score Lund and Marty.

    In the sixth, Denver Evans scored Chase Jarlsburg on a sacrifice flyout. Later in the inning, Lund scored Ehrke on an RBI single. Ehrke led the Blues with two hits.

    Cambridge (6-1 overall, 3-1 conference) faces Lake Mills (0-9) on Thursday, July 4 at Cambridge High School. The Blues have won six-in-a-row.
