CAMDENTEN, Mo. (KMOX) --Lake of the Ozarks police are investigating the story of a waitress who says a customer pushed her into the water at a lake-side restaurant.

Police say a group of people docked their boat and ordered food and drinks at The Fish and Company on Friday, June 28th around 10 pm. The group became upset with the staff for having to wait so long for their food.

"After they received their food, they just got up and left without paying for anything," said Chief Deputy Jimmy Brashear with Camden County Sheriff's Office. "The waitress went down to the boat dock to stop them because they had an outstanding bill for some alcohol.  The boat was pulling away and the captain of the boat grabbed her arm, she fell into the water, and the boat kept going."

The waitress was able to swim back to the dock. Police have not been able to identify the captain or the boat. Brashear says they need someone to rat out who did this because the surveillance video was too blurry to make out anything.

"Hopefully [the suspects] talk to other people about what happened and those people can call us," said Brashear. "Other than that there's not much we can do with just the information we have."

Police say the captain of the boat could face a misdemeanor assault charge if ever caught.
