San Antonio's Hidden Gem: The BBQ Spot Everyone's Raving About!

I can confidently say that Pinkerton's Barbecue in San Antonio is hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had! We dropped by for lunch during the week, and as soon as we arrived, we saw a line stretching out the door and around the building. But don’t let that deter you—the line moves quickly, and the food is absolutely worth the wait.

The ordering process at Pinkerton's is a bit unique and can take a little longer, but the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, making the experience enjoyable. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, which adds to the charm of the place.

With so many tempting options on the menu, it was tough to decide what to order. I finally settled on a few slices of brisket, and I have to say, I’ve never had brisket this good before! I also couldn’t resist the bacon mac and cheese, which I ordered "baller style"—it comes with extra cheese and chunks of brisket, and it’s totally worth it. I rounded out my meal with a sausage, which was equally impressive.

While it’s not the cheapest barbecue spot around, the quality of the food more than justifies the price. The seating area inside is also pretty cool, with animal heads mounted in the rafters, rustic wood paneling, and picnic tables that add to the laid-back vibe. Just a heads up—there’s no table service or set seating, so grab a spot when you can.

Others in our group couldn’t stop raving about the blueberry cobbler, so that’s definitely on my list for next time. Whenever I’m back in San Antonio, Pinkerton's will be at the top of my must-visit list. Highly recommended!
