Catch of the Day: Discover Lexington's Premier Seafood Destination!

We had been eyeing this restaurant for a while, and we finally made it a priority to give it a try. Fresh off a trip to New Orleans, we were craving some authentic Cajun flavors, and this spot seemed like the perfect choice. From the moment we sat down, the experience was promising. Our waiter had a great personality, and he was upfront about their goal of delivering New Orleans-style Cajun cuisine as close to the real deal as possible.

To kick things off, we were offered a sample of the seafood cheese bread. It was a brilliant move on their part because after just one bite, we knew we had to order a whole basket. The blend of flavors was incredible—rich, cheesy, and packed with seafood goodness. It’s an absolute must-have if you’re dining here.

For our main courses, we decided to stick to the fried options. I went for the Gator basket with a side of fried okra. Okra can be tricky to get right, but they nailed it—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The gator was just as impressive, offering that unique, slightly gamey flavor that makes it a true Southern delicacy.

Lee, being the shrimp enthusiast, opted for the fried shrimp. We were both impressed by the size and quality of the shrimp—no tiny, over-battered pieces here. These were full, plump shrimp, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.

The restaurant itself has a quirky, graffiti-themed décor that adds a unique vibe, though it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. While we weren’t entirely sold on the look, it didn’t detract from the overall experience.

In the end, we left satisfied and eager to recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood or has a craving for Cajun cuisine. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty gator basket, some perfectly fried shrimp, or just a taste of that addictive seafood cheese bread, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
