Maryland woman, dual organ donor advocates for bill to give tax break to donors
A Maryland woman is advocating for a bill aimed at increasing the number of live organ donors. Lindsay Gutierrez, originally from Oklahoma, served in security forces for the U.S. Air Force from 2010 to 2016. After tours alongside her husband in both England and Georgia, she was transferred to Maryland to work with the Department of Defense. She currently lives in Ellicott City.

MARYLANDERS REACT TO BIDEN LEAVING RACE; MANY LINE UP BEHIND HARRIS: Maryland Democrats on Sunday quickly praised President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race just weeks before the Democratic National Convention and some immediately backed Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s new standard-bearer. “Maryland has had a stalwart ally and tireless friend in President Biden,” said Gov. Wes Moore. He cited Biden’s aid after the March collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Axios reported, citing sources, that Moore will endorse Harris on Monday. U.S. Rep. Multiple ramp closures planned due to the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
Fairfax, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced that several ramps will be closed next week to finish construction work as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. The closures are scheduled from Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, generally from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers are advised to follow the signed detours during these times.
