Three members of the Grammy-nominated gospel family group the Nelons died in a plane crash on Friday. Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband, Jason Nelon Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler were killed while on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska, their management company announced in a social media statement. Amber’s husband, Nathan Kistler, was also killed, as well as the band's assistant, Melodi Hodges, and the pilot and his wife, Larry and Melissa Haynie.

The tragic crash occurred Wednesday afternoon in the Free State province of South Africa. The accident also claimed the lives of fellow musicians Puleng Phoofolo and Lizwi Wokuqala. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oak Ridge Boys honored late bandmate Joe Bonsall in a new music video that spotlighted the late tenor’s “unforgettable” performance. The group debuted their video for “Promised Land,” penned by country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe with PEOPLE on Thursday (July 25).
