Two Dogs Found Abandoned at Condemned Endicott House
Endicott police were called to a recently-condemned property in the village after a neighbor spotted a couple of dogs tied up to the house. Mayor Nick Burlingame said code enforcement officials determined people had been residing in the home at 108 Cleveland Avenue although there was no water or electric service there.
Wanted Fugitive Captured in Union
The Broome County Sheriff's Office says one of the top five most wanted fugitives in the county was arrested Friday morning in the Town of Union. According to the office, 42-year-old Matthew Knapp of Kirkwood was located by the U.S. Regional Fugitive Task Force in an apartment on Squires Avenue without incident. Knapp had been on the run for the last two months after the office says he absconded from probation for a Sex Offender Registration Violation in mid-May. He failed to update his address with the state's Sex Offender Registry after the violation of probation warrant was issued, and an additional warrant was issued for Failure to Register Under the Sex Offender Registration Act (Second Offense).
Crowdstrike outage effects in Tompkins County, Ithaca
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Some Tompkins County services and buildings are affected by the Crowdstrike outage. A bug in the cyber-security system is causing issues with Microsoft systems worldwide. Locally, the Tompkins County Department of Motor Vehicles is closed to the public until further notice. County officials say updates will be posted to the department’s Facebook page and county website.
