(WKBN) — Fireworks have been going on throughout the Valley since Thursday and will probably continue into Sunday.

A reminder that anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted to buy or set off fireworks.

For backyard displays, fireworks are allowed to go off until Sunday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

First responders are asking people to set them off safely and responsibly, and if you have a noise complaint about fireworks, law enforcement is asking you to call the correct number.

“Make sure you use the correct number,” Canfield Chief of Police Charles Colucci said. “There’s always a non-emergency number for every dispatch center in our county. 9-1-1 is reserved for true emergencies, life-threatening emergencies.”

The non-emergency numbers for your area can be found on your nearest police station’s website.
