CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – People in Canfield celebrated Christmas in July Thursday with a toy drive for Akron Children’s Hospital.

The toy drive is something the city does every year, filling up multiple cruisers with all kinds of toys and gifts.

Kids also had the chance to enjoy some games on the green and a castle-sized bounce house.

The city says it’s good to see the community come out to support a good cause.

“The city puts on multiple events throughout the year. It’s always great to see the community come out. They’re very receptive to it and they always appreciate it. It’s a good time to meet some folks and build some good relationships,” said Canfield Patrolman Steve Garstka.

Those who weren’t able to attend the event can still drop off any toys or games through Saturday before officers make the delivery to the children’s hospital.
