After another day with filtered sunshine across the county today, enough instability has built up in the atmosphere, resulting in showers and thunderstorms moving through the region this evening. Showers are working their way from northeast to southwest, an uncommon movement for shower activity in the region. Showers are expected to taper off just after midnight tonight, with hazy sunshine returning to the forecast tomorrow as high pressure takes control. This means sunshine going into the weekend, with smoky skies continuing concerns for air quality.
