Calling all stuffed animal friends for a library sleepover
Fluffy friends are in for a night of fun at the Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the Oakley Library in South Asheville on Friday, July 12. Stuffed animals are invited to spend the night at the library. During the sleepover, the stuffed animals will play games together, listen to stories, and stay up extra late. Each stuffed animal will receive a certificate to show their participation and a photo from the sleepover to share with each child.
Gateway Park along French Broad to fill in another missing greenway link
A new public park is being developed by RiverLink to serve cyclists, runners and pedestrians along the French Broad River near Montford. The new Gateway Park will be constructed on a two-acre tract along Riverside Drive north of the Pearson Bridge. With meandering pathways and native plantings, arched gateways at both entrances and a carousel-inspired pavilion, the new park will resurrect a smaller version of the historic Riverside Park found at this location in the early 20th century.
