1. Taylor Swift Dance Party in downtown Canton
Swifty alert!
A Taylor Swift Dance Party will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton.
This is the second year for the event, which celebrates the pop music star's immense popularity and her catalog of hit songs.
Q92 DJ Nikolina will host the dance party, a free, family-friendly event "where you can immerse yourself in Taylor Swift's biggest hits through her eras," the Downtown Canton Partnership announced. Fans are encouraged to sing and dance along to the music.
Swift's hits include "Shake It Off," "Cruel Summer," "Anti-Hero," "You Need to Calm Down," "Delicate," "Blank Space," "Style," "I Knew Your Were Trouble" and "Fortnight."
Three food trucks will be on site − The Flaming Marshmallow , Kona Ice and Pedro's Taqueria . Jerzee's Cafe, located at Centennial Plaza, and Arcadia Grille, located next to the plaza, will be serving non-alcoholic drinks.
Activities also will include a face painter and balloon artist. Centennial Plaza is at 330 Court Ave. NW along Market Avenue N.
2. Grecian Festival has authentic eats
Get ready for authentic food and good times this week at the annual Grecian Festival in Canton.
The event runs Wednesday through Saturday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 Fairhaven Ave. NW. Festival hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There's both indoor and outdoor dining.
Homemade Greek cuisine and pastries will be served. Entertainment includes dancing. Church tours also will be given. Food includes gyros, souvlaki, saganaki, loukoumades and more. Beer and wine also will be available.
EN-RICH-MENT Fine Arts Academy presents the event, which features food, live music, artwork, children's activities and entertainment. Featured performers will be Sisters of Soul Line Dance Party at 6:15 p.m., and hip-hop artists Nicasso Turpin, Jéan P the MC and Demetris Bolling starting at 6:45 p.m.
Johnny Britt and local singers perform at 7:45 p.m. Headliner The New Edition Experience performs 8:30-9:30 p.m.
A health zone will be open 10 a.m.-noon, including Xtreme Burn with Sean Strong at 10:30 a.m.; zumba at 11 a.m.; yoga, 11:30 a.m.; and step exercise at noon. A kid zone is noon-5 p.m.
A drum set competition and awards are at 3 p.m. on the main stage of Centennial Plaza. Jamming at the plaza is 3:30 p.m. A youth performance is at 5 p.m. followed by a fashion show at 5:30 p.m.
4. Shakespeare at the Castle in Alliance
The University of Mount Union's annual Shakespeare performance will begin on July 25 and continue the first weekend of August, during the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival.
"Romeo and Juliet" will be staged at 7 p.m. July 25-28 and Aug. 1-4 at the historic Glamorgan Castle , 200 Glamorgan St., Alliance. Last year marked the 10th anniversary of the annual Shakespeare at the Castle production. This year it features professional actors from Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Ticket prices range from $12 to $25, depending on whether tickets are general admission or for the bleachers and whether tickets are purchased in advance or on the day of the show. Students also receive a discount. Children under age 6 can attend for free but still require a ticket.
The classic tragedy tells the story of a romance between two teenagers, forbidden by their feuding families. The Shakespeare at the Castle adaptation will be directed by Kevin P. Kern , professor of theater at Mount Union and artistic director of the production.
5. 20th anniversary celebration for Cyrus art gallery
Artwork from Wanda Montgomery and the award-winning Doreen St. John will be featured. The opening reception will be in conjunction with the anniversary. The artists are also longtime friends.
St. John's work includes painting with oils and pastels while Montgomery's art includes abstract and mixed media styles.
The artwork will be on display until Sept. 20.
6. Sonny and Cher tribute show in Jackson
A Sonny and Cher tribute show will be 6:30 p.m. July 27 at La Pizzaria in Jackson Township.
The show also includes dinner. Featuring both music and comedy, the performance starts at 7:30 p.m.

7. Hunter Skeens plays bluegrass in Minerva
Local bluegrass performer Hunter Skeens and his band will play a free concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Municipal Park in Minerva.
Hunter Skeens and the Forerunners plays a unique style of traditional and grassed-up roots music, capturing both a classic and modern sound, the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce said in an announcement.
Skeens both plays guitar and sings and is known for high-energy performances.
Bringing blankets and chairs is suggested. Food and concessions will be available from Triple T Fresh Cooked Food and the 330 Popcorn Company.
Municipal Park is on Preston Street, adjacent to Minerva High School, which is at 501 Almeda Ave.
8. 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' in Massillon
"Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lions Lincoln Theatre, 156 Lincoln Way E in downtown Massillon.
Tickets cost $10 for ages 13 and older and $5 for kids age 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
