The Pro Football Hall of Fame added seven members to its class this weekend in Canton, Ohio. Those seven are Andre Johnson, Julius Peppers, Patrick Willis, Devin Hester, Randy Gradishar, Steve McMichael, and Dwight Freeney.
The Hall of Fame Game took place on Thursday between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans, although top pick Caleb Williams did not suit up.
At the Hall of Fame enshrinement, many legends made their way to celebrate the new patch of Hall of Famers, including Deion Sanders. The current Colorado Buffaloes head coach even took a picture with a fellow Hall of Famer and made his claim of Darrell Green being the “fastest man ever in the NFL.”
Sanders and Green took the photo and it was posted on Sanders' Instagram story.

Green and Sanders were teammates at one point in the NFL with the Washington Redskins. While Deion moved around the league with a couple of teams, Green spent his entire career with Washington from 1983-2002.
Green won a pair of Super Bowls, was named NFL Man of the Year in 1996, made seven Pro Bowl teams, was a four-time first-team All-Pro, and has plenty of other accolades, including an NFL-record 19 consecutive seasons with an interception.

Of course, Deion Sanders was one of the fastest and best athletes during his time, so him claiming Green was the fastest ever is quite a nod to the Hall of Famer.
There was an analytics thread released in July 2023 that compiled the 10 fastest players in NFL history, and both Sanders and Green made the list, although Chris Johnson took the top spot.
Still, it's a classy gesture from Deion Sanders to peg Darrell Green as the 'fastest man ever in the NFL.'
