Marty Danner will be the next director of human resources for Canyon County, the county announced Wednesday. She succeeds Richard Soto, who filled the role on an interim basis after Kate Rice’s February resignation .

Rice served in the role from June 2022 to Feb. 23.

Danner, who has undergraduate and graduate degrees in human resources management, holds a lengthy background in the profession. Most recently, she was chief HR officer for Premier Mortgage Resources in Meridian, where she worked for almost four years. Prior to that, she held several HR and payroll positions in the Denver area between 2007 and 2020, according to her LinkedIn profile.

A press release from the county states that Danner began her career as a police officer in Colorado. Her new role will be her first in the public sector since her law enforcement days.

“I am excited to return to the public sector and to serve as the HR director for Canyon County,” Danner said in the county’s release. “I look forward to cultivating strong relationships with county elected officials and department heads and establishing my role as a trusted HR leader.”

In her spare time, this week you can catch her at the Snake River Stampede, where she is associate director.
