Reck on the Road: ‘Grandma’ the Firetruck
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The Cape Charles Volunteer Fire Company is in need of a new truck. Like most volunteer organizations, fundraising is difficult…but very important. When it comes to this small town on the Eastern Shore, they’re very proud of a 100-year-old firetruck nicknamed, “Grandma.” This old firetruck was put into action July 1, 1924 and was still in use in the 1980’s. Now, they hope “Grandma” can help raise the money to fight future fires. If you would like to donate to the cause or find out more about CCVFC, go to capecharlesvfc.org.
