A man was arrested after a seagull was killed at a waterpark in North Wildwood, police announced Monday morning.

It happened on July 6, when police say 29-year-old Franklin Zeigler, of Cape May, was arrested after a seagull was found decapitated at Morey's Pier, 2501 Boardwalk.

According to a news release by police, during the investigation, "Zeigler was irate and uncooperative with officers on an unrelated investigation."

Zeigler was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

After an investigation, Zeigler was additionally charged with third-degree animal cruelty in the seagull's death.

Police are continuing to investigate, and ask anyone with any information to call 609-522-2411 or by anonymously texting TIP NWPD with any information.
