Logan County set see high heat next week

Logan County, Ohio - Beginning this Sunday and stretching through the rest of the week, Logan County is set to see a significant increase in daytime temperatures.

Sunday is predicted to reach the upper 80’s, but that just sets the stage for Monday through Thursday, reaching into the mid- to upper 90’s during the daytime and with overnights falling only into the mid-70’s.

With heat indices approaching 100 degrees, the National Weather Service warns that these conditions can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and those with health conditions.

Experts recommend staying hydrated with water. Both caffeine and alcohol have the tendency to dehydrate the body, so trying to hydrate through sodas or alcoholic drinks offers more harm than relief. If you’re planning on spending significant time in the water, make sure you apply sunscreen both before and after spending time in the water, and remember to check in often with kids who are less likely to recognize the signs of overexposure.

Most importantly, make sure you plan ahead when heading out to the ice cream shop. You can bet you won't be the only one in line this week!
