    Carbon Chamber names new economic development director

    The Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) has appointed Brenda Sacco as the new director of economic development for Carbon County.

    In her position, Sacco will support the growth and development of existing businesses, attract new businesses and industries, create and retain family-sustaining jobs.

    "I am excited to be here and to be able to utilize my decade of experience and expertise in Economic and Community Development to make a positive impact in Carbon County," Sacco said in a release

    Sacco will also administrate state-funded PIDA loans as well as two in-house, low-interest loan programs along with the Carbon County Industrial Development Authority.

    She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the NEPA Alliance and the Multimodal Transportation Organization (MPO) Policy Committee.

    A graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and Drexel University, Sacco earned a degree in Accounting and Finance from the LeBow College of Business. She has over 25 years of experience in financial services, including finance, investments, accounting, audit, strategic planning, profitability analysis, administration, project management, budgeting, forecasting, sales, marketing and economic and community development.

    She previously held positions as a financial analyst at Credit Lyonnais in New York, NY, a vice president at Lehman Brother’s for eight years with her main concentration in Equity Markets, vice president for over three years at First National Community Bank in Pennsylvania and was recently the deputy director of finance and operations for over six years and the director for the Department of Planning and Economic Development at Lackawanna County for four years.
