Nassau County police say a burglary happened at Blooming Nails and Spa on Westbury Avenue in Carle Place shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, a man threw a rock through the front glass door then entered the nail salon, stole money and ran off. The subject is described as a white male, height 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches, 160 pounds with brown hair, and he was wearing a mask. News 12 was told the same thing happened at Sunny Nail Club on Voice Road in Carle Place between midnight and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, less than a half a mile away from the other nail salon. Police have not said if the two burglaries are connected or have given details on how much money was stolen. Dominick Gismundi, a construction director working in the mini shopping mall where Sunny Nail Club is located, said, "It’s a nice neighborhood. Why would you want to hear something like that, especially when you build something nice for the neighborhood?" Detectives ask anyone with information about either burglary to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or 911. "
