(Creston) -- A pair of Creston suspects face drug charges following their arrests in separate incidents early Monday morning. The Creston Police Department says 44-year-old Ronnee Colleen Abel of Creston was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. for possession of a controlled substance, non-marijuana, 3rd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Several Agencies Respond to Sunday Fire in Knoxville
The Knoxville Fire Department and several county agencies responded to a house fire in Knoxville earlier this afternoon. Fire Chief Cal Wyman reports crews were dispatched just after 2 p.m. to the 1000 Block of West Larson Street. Firefighters were notified Marion County that they had received multiple calls, and there was smoke coming from the house. When units arrived on scene, there was smoke pushing from the roof and eves of the house. The structure suffered fire, heat, smoke, and water damage. Wyman says the fire was accidental in nature and started by burning yard waste next to the home, starting on an exterior before spreading to the garage and attic. Residents are being assisted by family and friends. The Knoxville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Pella Ambulance, Marion County Dispatch and Mid-American Energy.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Fire Department credits a fire sprinkler with keeping a high-rise building in downtown standing. The fire department referred to the sprinkler as a "hero" in a Facebook post made on Thursday. The department says that just after 10 a.m. on Thursday, a sprinkler activated on the 20th floor of the Ligutti Tower apartment building located on 5th Avenue.
