CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Call it the Royal Rumble of surfing — but without the fighting, of course.

On Wednesday, a wave of people were seen surfing in Carlsbad.

The event is known as “Slamarack,” and it takes place at Tamarack Surf Beach.

Those involved all wait for the swell and tide to be up at about six feet and then attempt to ride the wave to shore at the same time.

Video sent to FOX 5/KUSI shows the participants catching the waves in an all out frenzy. Some people make it all the way to shore while others, unfortunately, fall off their boards and into the water.

But it’s all done in good fun, and it sure is a spectacle to see.
